I've just quit actually.

Took me a while, but I finally shook off the fucking fanboism and saw the game for what it is.... shit.

1) CC is out of fucking control. We all remember them pre-release talking about how they didn't like CC that made players lose control of their characters like fear and mind control. Ironically this is the #1 CC in the game... disabling. If you're melee, you'll spend half of your /played time with "You are Disabled" spamming your screen where you lose all control of your character and can do nothing. Even if PvP were fun (it's not) CC would be holding it back because it's not even necessary to have good timing. There is so much fire'n'forget CC in this game that the only time you're able to move around and do anything is when your immunity timer is up, and even that is so short that you'll want to punch yourself in the dick repeatedly.

2) RvR is boring as shit. Battle Objectives and keeps are a Grind that will suck the fucking life out of you. Players are too fucking ignorant to coordinate and effectively siege a protected keep (no surprise, puggers are fucking retarded), so the strategy in most cases is to bounce from zone to zone looking for unoccupied BO's and Keeps. Victory Points are ignorant because they decay and you can literally be stuck in a Zone on the verge of flipping for hours at a time. The best defense the enemy has is to non-participation, if they don't come out and play you can't gain VP off of them... and you can't camp the Flight Master because of 55+ guards doing instant non-mitigatable 30000 damage to you.

3) City Sieges are fucking lame. It's just a shitty Public Quest that lvl 1 players can attend, and win loot in. I've seen lv 30 players get 5/6 Invader (3rd best set in the game) by standing around doing nothing... because the Contribution system (thing that determines who gets loot) is complete fucking shit. Getting to the King and killing him isn't about overcoming your enemy or strategy, it's about grinding gear to climb the "ward system" PvE ladder. Remember the first time you killed Ragnaros back in the day? This is not like that, it's much more disappointing. This "end game" will leave your dick limp for a week because of how disappointing it is. Try explaining that one to your Girl friend.

4) PvE (instances) is even more mindless than WoW PvE. This game shows that developers are trying to make games idiot proof, and it's working. Not to worry though, even though it's fucking boring and easy you'll still be forced to do the dungeons because the drop rates on everything is very low. No token system to allow players to get what they need and get the fuck out... the Strategy Mythic chose for making content "last longer" was to make the gear low percentage drops. All of this in a supposed pvp/rvr focused game. It's so fucking focused on RvR and PvP that if you want the best gear you need to spend 20 hours a week in dungeons farming loot that won't drop.

5) Renown ranks doing decay, it's just a grind. It's even more meaningless than High Warlord was because this doesn't decay. At least High Warlords had to play a lot and really grind it out... display some dedication... some motivation. Here you can just come and go and you'll eventually get high renown. It doesn't take anywhere near as long as they said it would either. RR80 Magus reported last month or the month before. I was RR62 and rerolled, now my alt is RR40. It would be cool if RR80 meant something, but all it means is that you stayed up late a lot capturing undefended battle objectives and keeps. The RR80 Magus rarely PvP'd, at the first sign of defense arriving in a zone he would run to an undefended zone and keep grinding.

6) Scenarios are kinda/sorta fun, if you're organized and on vent vs. another team that is organized and on vent. This rarely occurs. We split our groups up into 3 man groups Q'ing up separately because if we queue with 6 we spawn camp the enemy and they leave. No challenge, no competition, they just fucking suck so terribly that attacking with 20% of our effort fucking crushed them.

7) Population problems on all realms lead to imbalanced fighting and very little competition. Since the mechanics of this game are such that overwhelming odds CANNOT be overcome through superior gameplay, numbers win period. On top of that the geography isn't such that effective strategies can be formulated around using the landscape to your advantage. Even if you wanted to log on and do some open RvR you wouldn't find any enjoyable pvp, because odds are often grossly imbalanced... making scenarios the only place to find a fair fight, but then again refer to point 6 for how shitty Scenarios are.

8) Hardware in the game can't support the scale necessary for ORvR, even with high end hardware you'll find yourself viewing a slideshow in a fortress, or heavily defended keep. The massive scale this game promised, it can't achieve. This is both due to the graphics engine this game runs on and the hardware they use attempting to support it. Perhaps the engine is ahead of it's time... as of right now it's sluggish and shitty and not conducive to enjoyable fluid gameplay.

I can't think of anything else at the moment, but given enough time I could point out more shitty aspects of this game.

It's bad. It's going to stay bad.

The expansion offers a few new classes, some more shitty scenarios, and no ~real~ balancing changes. It's just a trash gimmick that with shake things up for a month and then it will go back to being fucking horrible like it is now.

How anyone can play this game I don't know.
