I was just wondering what your opinions were on my thought processes concerning the subject at hand. N From you post, you're asking if you're fucked up for knowing what happens in this ugly world - no you're not. From your conversation though, you seem to interpret that because Bio's wife wouldn't like to hear such things, that she's ignorant and is like many who live sheltered lives not accepting nasty truths. Well, unless you actually know Bio's wife, you're not in any place to pass judgment. Just because people don't like hearing such things doesn't mean they can't or wont accept them. You seem to be gliding over a human element here, in that a loving women (and from what is seems a recent mother too) may be prone to flip out when there is a story about some dumb bitch cooking her kid in a microwave. Assessing someone to be ignorant and sheltered because of this circumstance is really unfair. It's shouldn't make her wrong for being disgusted with such tragedy, and maybe there is something wrong when you believe you've become so desensitized to vulgar things that you no longer feel offended or repulsed by them. Not saying you need to be sensitive and have feelings for everything, but when you no longer hold value to human life on a personal basis, I wouldn't be too quick to say you're much better than someone who is truly fucked in the head. In summation, you're not wrong for accepting you live in a nasty world. And yes, in that mail, you did rant. I would however suggest you observe how you deal with people who haven't quite reached your level of understanding on the matter. Maybe not everyone is at your point yet and are fully accepting of things - and as such I'd be weary to not press things too hard on them for not being so, lest you be nothing more than a bible thumper. Just because you found out the world sucks doesn't mean anyone asked you to make everyone else's world suck. They'll eventually find that out on their own, and if they manage to not do so, then they're probably people you don't want to know anyway.
