Folks,

I also heard that the headstart will not include characters either above level one either! You simply stand around and chat and chat and chat and chat. WOOT! FYI, this has just about the same chance of being true as the non-RvR rumor.

Let me be very clear again on the subject. The headstart program is the full game for those who are in there. The only difference is that we won't have all the servers (but we will have all the server types/rulesets) running then since they won't be needed until the game goes LIVE.

Anything else you hear is either BS, trolling or a serious case of misinformation (or would that be disinformation in some cases?).

Basically confirming there are forces out there doing their best to confuse and raise doubt about the game. We don't have to think too hard about who stands to loose MILLIONS of dollars a year when WAR comes out. Think about it. If only 1 million people left WoW. That would be
Code:

$15.00 x 12 months = $180 a year x 1,000,000 subscribers = $180,000,000.00 a year.
That is one hell of a chunk of change. By the way, 7 years ago during DAOC's peak, they had 500,000 subscribers. I am guessing WAR will draw several MILLION.

I don't know that Blizz has to actively campaign against the head start program. That's not going to lose them subscribers either way, if people get the head start or not.

I think there are just that many extremely stupid people on the internet who are prone to spread bad rumors as fact to other extremely stupid people on the internet.

I'm guessing 2-3 days.

My concern though is how long the grace period is after launch before you have to enter keys.

Cause delivery from EA store to Canada is 5-10 days it says... QQ.

More than just WoW losing money, you should hear the fear from the players of WoW. Think about it, all those new players who've never played mmo's before, they see wow as all there is to have. They don't want their realms destroyed through lack of players, they don't want to leave for a new game cause they can't find any groups anymore. They don't want to level all over again.

All these people think mmo's = WoW and getting new gear or xp = mindless grind. They don't want to do the mindless grind again. There are many more scared-to-switch-games WoW players out there spreading mindless propaganda than blizz is doing themselves.

Log on the WoW forums and post something about WAR and just see all the mindless, misinformed posts you'll get. No WoW worshiper EVER took this much interest in games like hellgate cause they knew it wasn't a threat. But WAR...now that's a different story.

You = fucking idiot.

The comment about "disinformation" was referring to the game in general NOT the headstart program. Try reading something more than once if you do not comprehend it right away. K thanks.

If any of you do not think Blizzard is concerned. Your too fucking retarded to be in this guild. You know where the door is. Try not to let it hit you on the way out. Then try taking a economics class.

I looked at it again, I still see him referencing rumors about the head start program. Which is what the quoted comment is all about. Doesn't look out of context to me.

Where did I say Blizzard isn't concerned with new games coming to market? Why would anyone EVER think that? The difference between saying they are concerned about it and saying they are actively planting information with covert agents to start rumors against a game (or more specifically its head start program) is a pretty huge leap though.

Will Blizzard lose revenue when AoC comes out? For sure. Will they lose revenue when WAR comes out? For sure. Will they gain some revenue back when WotLK comes out? For sure. Will WoW become an unprofitable game to run because of AoC or WAR? I very, very highly doubt that. Does Blizzard expect their game to run completely unopposed at the top of the market for more than 4 years and 2 expansions? Probably not much further than 5 years. I'm sure they have a sequel/side job in the works already.

Are they concerned over WoW to the point that they would engage in corporate espionage and petty tactics of spreading internet rumors? I mean, I guess they could. I really don't see the point though. They have to realize the collective voice of the internet is worth more than every single employee they have at every level of their company making 20 accounts each to spread disinformation about a game.

Now, are there stupid Blizz fanboys out there doing this? Probably a few. Enough to REALLY make a difference? I doubt it. It just really feels like empty conjecture and rampant speculation to say this is some big conspiracy of disinformation to me.

Guys this gonna become a billion dollar industry soon, so you can bet your asses that there will be people who will try to smear their competitors and create barriers to entry wherever possible...I understand and don't blame Blizzard or whoever for doing...I just think that since WAR is a quality game...this smearing won't work...

Its painfull for me because there is a branch of EA 15 minutes away from me and games they produce I wait longer for.
