For the next month (until the end of April) this thread will be open to take suggestions for the name of the sister guild. Names should be cool (no ironic Latin names are not cool), and convey either a sense of humor or power. The names should also be unique, to prevent duplication by other guilds. So names like, Perdition and Entropy, are out. At the conclusion of the month a poll will be started to vote on the name the guild likes best. Management retains the right to veto any shit names. I will throw my hat into the ring to get this started. "Division by Zero" or "Meat Shield" |

New Rules... 1. Everyone is now limited to 5 suggestions. For fuck sake man. I want you to read that list and then honesly tell me you think all of those are "Cool" names. Would you want to be in a guild named "Built Chaos Tough" ? It was mildly humorous when it was Built Horde Tough... because HORDE rhymes with FORD. 2. Exceptionally shitty names may result in a /gkick. So go and fix that shitty list... |

Umbrella Corporation vs. Poncho Co. (not "Corporation") Both are devices used for practically the same purpose. ...sounds kinda funny to say, reflective of a humorous alt-guild, and it makes sense to have a Sub-Corp that we "own" and make "business decisions" for. Not much in the way of the "strike fear into the heart of your enemy" department, but I think it's clearly identifiable as possessing a relationship with Umbrella... and really what else would be needed? You could also name it "Homeless Shelter" which could be a kinda Charitable thing that Corporations love to raise their P.R. by being associated with. This one is particularly funny, imo. The catch phrase already comes to mind, "Umbrella Corporation owns and maintains a Homeless Shelter for X nub guild that we just dominated in RvR" Never mind the faction differences... "Raincoat Co." might be good too, as it obviously carries with it the classic condom allusion, and the alliteration isn't a bad touch. Rehash 1) Poncho Co. 2) Homeless Shelter 3) Raincoat Co. I dunno, maybe I'll think of something better later... Edit: OR, you could go the route of just taking on another Corp from a famous hollywood movie and call it Skynet, from Terminator (obviously). Edit: Ok and my fifth and final suggestion is to name it "The Government" because we all know big corporations run the government.... how fitting would it be if "Umbrella Corporation ran The Government." It's also perfect for the name of a shitty alt guild, because the Government is inefficient at everything it does, whereas a Corporation is in business to make profit, which means eliminating inefficiencies (translated metaphorically to mean Be the Best at War, while our Sister guild is inefficient and not quite as good.) Pure ownage imo, what did I win? |

*Medical Names* Blunt Force Trauma (simple, easy to say, and easy to identify; though prolly not the first guild named this) Acute Myocardial Infarction (The medical term for a heart attack, original, but hardly anyone will know what it means) T-Virus Positive/Infected (in keeping with the resident evil theme) Status: Infected I'll have to think some more... *EDIT* My take on Lucretius's idea: Poncho Inc. But that's rather silly. I like "The Government" and "Scorched Earth" ideas as well. |
